WHAT WE’RE WORKING TOWARD

The road ahead.

Follow the direction of UNSG V2, from online play and everyday fixes to new ways to train, compete and customize.

Updated September 15, 2026. This is a manually maintained overview, not a live development feed. Priorities may change; no release dates are promised here.

In progress

In progress

The current development focus.

Online & rollback

Delay-based online play has been tested. Work is focused on rollback foundations and reliable match synchronization. Rollback is not yet a finished feature.

Website & documentation

Clearer mode comparisons, character pages and a consistent interface. Move-data extraction is being explored; final damage values still need controlled verification.

Planned work

Planned work

Queued follow-ups; this is not a release schedule.

Gameplay fixes & balance

Continue targeted character, contact and mechanics fixes, with Base, Balanced and V2 scopes kept separate. Online remains the current game-development priority.

Launcher & updates

Improve installation and update reliability. Standardize fonts and buttons, add website and Discord links, and design a matching cursor. Explore an optional animated background with a static fallback.

Menus & usability

Continue profile and menu polish, clearer online player identification, and a clean return from a paused match to VS selection.

Longer-term plans

Longer-term plans

Ideas and investigations whose scope may change.

Training tools

Two-player training, a quick reset, input display and damage tracking.

Performance & graphics

Deeper rendering optimization and Vulkan investigation, followed by more graphics options and visual improvements. Feasibility and performance come first.

Maps, music & character imports

Choose match music and investigate importing maps and characters from later Storm games. Additional slots, alternate moves and custom outfits depend on compatibility.

Match analysis & rankings

Verified match records and mode-specific rankings, followed by playstyle summaries, input statistics and post-match analysis. No invented player scores or accuracy ratings.

Story, CPU & platform support

Further story/cutscene fixes, stronger CPU behavior and investigation of macOS/Linux support. These remain longer-term work.
